Combs, St Mary's

Much of the C15 glass here was lost due to an explosion in Stowmarket in 1871; mercifully, a quantity still remains, for exampe in the western-most South window with scenes from the Life of St Margaret. She is shown keeping sheep and receiving the blessing from the Deity then before the governor Olybrius whose demon idol on a pedestal she refuses to worship, then in prison, stepping into boiling oil, being swallowed by the devil disguised as dragon, whence she emerges and birches him.
