Reims, Cathedral

w.116 the south rose originally had C13 glass, but this was destroyed in a storm in 1580, then reconstructed by Nicolas Derode in 1581. This C16 glass was destroyed in WWI. Christ was at the centre of Derode's scheme with the 12 apostles in the 12 outer circles, although how much was his and how much was medieval is unknown. It was replaced with Jacques Simon's window in1937, Christ in Glory surrounded by angels and the 12 apostles (the Simon-Marq atelier has been looking after the cathedral's glass since at least the C17).
